As a follow up to my last post, all went well with my absence meeting with the school! I get my credit, Such a weight off my shoulders. Today was also my birthday, and I had a good day for the most part! But I'm sure you reading all about my day is almost as exciting as it is for me to write about it(not very), so I'll just leave that at that.
In a world full of anxiety and stress, it can be hard to keep a positive outlook and focus on the good things in life. I'm typically pretty good at having a positive mindset, but I'm learning all to well how easily one bad thing can overpower the 100 good things in your life. And it shouldn't be this way, because I as well as you, have many things to be thankful and happy about. When feeling stressed I always try to remember "Count your blessings, not your troubles."
One thing about people on the Internet, they're obsessed with quotes. The majority of the things I see on my Facebook or Instagram feed are pictures, or a status, with some sort of "inspirational quote". My question is, do people actually try and get something out of that quote, or do they post it because it's the "cool" thing to do..? Most likely the latter of the two, But I'm not entirely sure. I do know though, that if you really take "Count your blessings, not your troubles" into consideration, and literally think about it, you'll find that your blessings out number your troubles significantly, and the thing you were stressing about before will seem so small.
To me positive thinking doesn't mean to keep your head in the sand and just ignore all of lifes more unpleasant things, as some people are led to believe. It's that you approach those things in a positive way, finding that silver lining in your troubles, and thinking that the best will come out of it, not the worst. Life undoubtedly has it's trials and struggles, no matter who you are. And you can either overcome them, or you can let them overcome you.
I just know that no matter what happens in my life, God has a plan for me and for everyone, and I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. It may not be what you or I would like, but in the end Gods perfect Will will be done, and that's a blessing in itself. What ever I could be stressing over now, time will eventually pass and before I know it it'll be a month down the road, and that problem will seem so insignificant. Time is a blessing. I'm so thankful for the mindset that I do have, and thankful for the many other blessings in my life.
On a brighter note, I get to see Levi SO SOON. Ahhhhh. I'll save you from the mushiness ;) But I'm SO ready and SO excited!
