Why a sudden burst of motivation?
I got a new laptop! (Lets be honest..I got it about ...3 months ago. I'm really just lazy. ) (Let's be really honest, I've been working on this post for about all of the 5 months, and just never had the motivation to finish ...:P ) My laptop is a turquoise blue HP Chrome book. And I'm lovingggg it! Now I no longer have to deal with the very poorly structured blogger app, so the motivation to write more will hopefully stick around. ;)
July 23rd at 2:30am.. I wake up and get around to head out on my very first flight. Days leading up to it, i was pretty excited about flying for the first time. The whole idea of seeing things from 30,000 feet above, and being eye level with the clouds was pretty interesting. Well, when you wake up on the morning of, your thoughts are more.. depressing. "What if something goes wrong? 30,000 feet is pretty high up..What if the plane crashes? Do I really want to do this?" Thoughts of 9/11, Malaysia Airlines, and any plane crash/ incident you can think of start running 90 miles an hour in your head. Needless to say.. I was pretty nervous.
It's a good thing I had Levi with me, because the whole airport setup was pretty confusing for a first timer. I definitely wouldn't have made it from point A to point B without him! We went through the security check, and I got my palms checked for explosive residue... Do I look like a terrorist?? *adjusts turban*
Our first plane went from Oklahoma City to Salt lake city, then from there we flew to Portland. I got a little "airplane sick" but other than that all my nervousness was for nothing, because our flights went really well. A little long and boring, but pretty well.
Levi was sweet enough to let me set by the window every time, and I was glued to that window! Seeing the clouds at eye level was even more impressive then I had imagined..
When we landed in Portland, it was raining. (How typical) We met up with his dad and ate Thai food, then went back to his house. My first time seeing My boyfriend of nearly 3 years home. It was so weird seeing it, knowing that through all those long distance phone calls and video chats that this is where he was. I got to see his old room, where he used to work, the Starbucks he was always at, the church he went too. It was so surreal to me to finally know what all the places were and what they looked like, instead of having just a mental image of what I imagined they would look like, which overall I would say that was my favorite part of the trip. :)
Being from Oklahoma, Oregon was overwhelmingly beautiful. I mean look at these trees?! You don't see those down here folks, nothing even close to that. I think I spent a good 75% of the trip getting googly eyed over trees. Yes, I'm easy to please lol! Levi took me too this park in Hillsboro, which is where I took these pictures. I think he was just as entertained by my obsession with the trees as I was WITH the trees! Lol Another pretty cool thing up there, is berry farms. I love fruit, and being able to go pick it yourself and being able to buy it for such a cheap price was awesome!
That box was a little over $3. Insanely cheap and sure beats the heck outta bagged frozen berries.. And those were the Biggest and Best raspberries I have ever..ever had. If I ever live there, This would be something I'd do regularly.
After a few normal days there, Levi's dad decided to take us camping close to the coast. My first time meeting and being around Levi's siblings and they get to see me at my worst.. totally awesome. Lol! I slept in a tent in the middle of the wilderness for the first time ever. You'd think Living in Oklahoma I'd have a little experience in the whole camping/outdoors stuff, right? Wrong.
All went well despite my fears. The first night Levi and I drove out to the coast alone where I got to see the ocean for the very first time ever. We watched the sunset under a blanket on the sand, and despite how cold it was, we shared ice cream, because there were no coffee shops in the town we were in. I thought Oregon was supposed to have coffee on every street corner? Levi is from the Portland/Hillsboro area, and coffee really WAS at least on every block there. It was amazing, not so many other towns had the same concept though, which was a little disappointing.

The beautiful sunset we got to see together :) I couldn't have had a better first time at the ocean! I was so impressed, It exceeded all my expectations!
We were camping by a river somewhere near Tillamook. The next day after we woke up Levi and I went kayaking while his family was fishing. It was my first time of course, so I was not the best at it, but the river was beautiful and I had alot of fun *attempting* to be good at kayaking ;) Later after that, We went to the Ocean again! It was during the day so we got to spend a little more time there..

Oregon is a very photogenic state!
My last day at the Ocean Was the best. It was very overcast that day, Which I believe is when Oregon is the prettiest. It was really foggy and Misty, And we drove through some beautiful foggy woods to get here.
The moss that grows on those rocks is incredible!

We went to go see a lighthouse that day also. You couldn't even see the ocean from inside the lighthouse because it was so foggy, But i got some good pictures walking too it!
Like I said, Oregon is very photogenic!
On our way back home we went to Multnomah Falls! Which was also my very first waterfall to ever see. Alot of firsts on this trip for me ;)
We went on a two mile hike up that mountain to get to the very top of that waterfall! It was sooo worth it,The views on the way there and the little creak that lead to the waterfall was absolutely beautiful.

I didn't get a whole lot of pictures at the top of the waterfall, Because I was actually in the creek climbing up rocks and fallen trees, it was really slippery and I didn't want to risk dropping my phone, but I did get a few.

Of all the Nature exploring, The top of Multnomah falls was probably my favorite. The hike was long, but it was so worth it. Looking back now I wish I would've risked it to get a few more pictures up there, but without my phone I was really able to just enjoy the scenery, and the adventure of going almost another half mile back into that little creek. I've never seen anything more beautiful in my life!
After all the camping and nature exploring was done, we only had just a few more days left to just relax, and that we did. I was getting a little homesick, But I loved Oregon so much. We got up early and came back home to boring Oklahoma, And I have missed it so much ever since. I really can't wait to go back for another trip, and maybe even one day call it home? ;)
